Robert M. Cohen
Robert Cohen, the founder of the Law Offices of Robert M. Cohen, is a Family Law attorney, concentrating his practice on mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
Robert Cohen has served as a Court appointed Family Law mediator and is a Team Mediator for Team Mediation through the Los Angeles Superior Court. He is an AV-rated attorney and has also been recognized many times as a Family Law – Super Lawyer. Robert Cohen has also been retained as independent counsel as a Family Law expert, and has taught law as an Assistant Law Professor at Pepperdine Law School. Mr. Cohen has also served as a Judge Pro Tem in both the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles Municipal Courts.
In addition to being a very experienced trial attorney, Robert Cohen is also sensitive to the many psychological and emotional aspects involved in Family Law matters. He draws upon his experience and sensitivity to efficiently mediate and/or consult his clients.
Robert Cohen received his A.B. from Boston University, and his LL.B. also from Boston University (standing in the top 10% of his class). While in law school, Mr. Cohen was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in Equity and the William V. Rowe Scholarship. Also while in law school, Robert Cohen received the Judge Elmer J. Rathburn Scholarship Award.
Mr. Cohen is a member of the State Bar of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association (he was a Member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section from 1987-1991), and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. Robert Cohen was also previously admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
